Cash game regular, Ryan Donnelly has racked up over 100k in the last few years in live tournaments earnings, and is looking to add to that with his first deep run in a Big Stax main event this weekend.

Just before hand for hand, Steven Lerner had doubled up his 95k with AK all in pre flop vs AQ and held. A couple hands later, UTG Brian Luo raised to 20k and Lerner called in the BB.

Lerner tables his 8♦9♣ for trip 8’s and Luo shows 4♦4♣ for a full house 4’s full of 8’s.

Going into hand for hand Luo now has close to 900k in chips. About 6 hands in UTG Luo raised to 20k UTG+1 called, Casey Mann from the hijack re-raised to 65k, action folded around to Lerner who tanks in the BB and folds leaving himself just 45k behind, and Luo pauses then makes it 160K, action folds back to Mann who just calls.

River: 6♦ Luo checks, Mann goes all in with approximately 700k covering Luo’s approximately 400k. Luo tanks and makes the call

2 players managed to come into day 2 with over 700k: August 2025 Big Stax 1500 winner, Brian Luo with 743k, and Casey (Michael) Mann with 747k. Mann currently has about 1.4M in chips and Luo had lost about half his stack earlier in the day but just won most of it back in a non shown down pot.

Big Stax 1500 Day 2 is underway and nearing the money. With 455 entries 53 players will have a minimum cash of $3,156 with the top prize taking home $137,688. 57 players remain so just 4 more players need to be eliminated before the remaining field is in the money.

Saturday’s Day 1b of the February Big Stax 1500 event is complete. A total of 447 entries built a prize pool of over $600,000. There are 91 players currently remaining and tomorrow they’ll play down to the end of Level 26 or the final table, whichever comes first.

Day 2 resumes tomorrow (Sunday) morning at 11:00 AM in the Main Poker Room. We are allowing day 2 buy-ins, but registration will close as soon as cards are in the air. First place is currently over $135k!
