Edisio Pereira has accumulated a massive amount of chips early in the session and leads the field with 260k. The Portugese player has just three cashes on his resume with his most recent being a min-cash at the Borgata Summer Open Kickoff event earlier this year. He will now pursue his first major score and is off to an excellent start to do so this weekend.
Shulman comes in clear 2nd during the most recent break with 178k. Shulman is an experienced tournament player with ~$630k in career earnings and is coming into Parx after having a good month at Borgata in September. Shulman took 2nd in the tough $1k 6-max event for $34,495 and backed that up with a two more cashes in the Seniors event and the Kickoff event. He will now look at make his 3rd Final Table in the Big Stax series after previously getting 3rd and 7th in the 1500 Main Event.
Kaltenmair rounds out the Top 3 with ~145k which is over 200 big blinds at this stage. There will be three more levels before the dinner break at 6:30 PM and the blog will look to identify any newcomers challenging the pace these leaders have set.
