McKeehen Gets It Going

  • Big Stax XXIII 300 Main Event
  • Level 15 (2000/4000/500)
  • Day 1A Entries: 302

Joe McKeehen has been steadily grinding with less than 100k for the majority of Day 1A and had just eclipsed that mark before sending an opponent to the rail in the final level of play.

McKeehen opened the pot from under the gun to 8500 and was called by one player in middle position. Everyone else folded out and they would see a heads-up flop.

Flop: Q♦J♥6♠ Pot: 27k

McKeehen led for 9500 and was called.

Turn: 4♥ Pot: 46k

McKeehen led once again for 21k. His opponent then moved all-in for ~60k and was instantly called and McKeehen fast-rolled his flopped set.

McKeehen 6♣6♦ vs Villain Q♦10♦ Pot: ~166k

The river was meaningless as the top-pair was drawing dead to McKeehen’s set. After a quiet start to the tournament, the extremely dangerous player is now working with ~200k.
