Himmelbrand has about half the chip average with about 300k, he won a 2015 Big Stax 500 and also has a couple second place finishes from about 10 years ago. Wong won summer 2024 big stax 750 followed by a 2nd place finish the following year in the same event. Wong recently lost most of her chips and has less than 10 BB with about 100k in chips. Wong has shown in the past she can run up a solid chip lead, but will need to find a good spot soon to put her chips at risk to double up and avoid elimination.

Coming into day 2 in the top 5 in chips is quite the feat, but staying there and continuing to build is often quite the challenge. Craig Gould came into day 2 4th in chips with 625k, and currently has about 850k in chips remaining (about double the average). Despite doubling up Rob Klein’s 124k stack, Nikola “Panini” Curanovic quickly recovered in a hand verse Wayne Wang. Panini started the day 3rd in chips with 628k and currently has about 700k. Michael Ciarlante was the day 2 chip leader starting the day with 689k and currently has about 900k.
With a few back to back knockouts hand for hand play was unnecessary and the final 89 players are now officially in the money.
Sridhar Sangannagari came into day 2 5th in chips for just under 600k, he recently raised to 22k pre flop mid position, Vincent “the champ” Pistorino who came into the day second in chips with 684K but had lost about half his stack the first part of the day flatted from the hijack, cutoff reraised to 80k, and both Sangannagari and Pistorino called.
