With the blinds about to go up, the need to win coin flips to survive becomes more and more apparent. Two of our Day 2 chip leaders have just recently been knocked out. Alida Veliu losing with her pocket QQ to AK with 1.4 million, and Kevin “Racks” Roster Jr doubling Brian Ballentine who held Pocket 99 vs Racks’ AQ. Earlier in the level Ballentine was down to just 2 big blinds and managed to run his stack up to cause damage on this hand. Not too long after, Ballentine raised from the button to 70k, Racks 3bet to 250k, and Ballentine then shoved all in for 1.3 million, and called by Racks who he had narrowly covered with about 1.1 million. Racks this time an underdog with pocket JJ to Ballentine’s pocket QQ, and no help from the board to take Racks out in 21st for $2642.
