Ping Pong for the Short Stacks

  • Big Stax XXVI 1500 2:00 PM
  • Level 24 (15000/30000/30000)
  • Players Remaining: 8

Thirty minutes into level 24 and we have had an astonishing 5 all in hands that were called, with survival always going to the short stack.  4 of the hands involved Anna Antimony who had pocket J’s 3 of those hands.  The first time to David DeNoon who held A♣K♣ and the board came all clubs, the second again with DeNoon, who held pocket K’s and Antimony hit a set to double her back up, the third time was to Joe Palma who had K♦Q♦ on a 6 high board with 2 diamonds, but the board held for her to double up.  Between the second and 3rd pocket J’s Antimony 3bet Chris Kennedy who had raised in the SB to 75k and she shoved, Kennedy called and showed his A4 vs Antimony’s AQ.  The board was almost friendly to Antimony, when a 4 showed up to give Kennedy a pair and a double up.  With 397k remaining following losing with his K’s DeNoon open shoved all in UTG+2 and called by Thai Ha who held AJ vs DeNoon’s AK that held up.
