Ketan Pandya, Day 2 Level 20

Pandya started the day with 441k and has grabbed the chip-lead after four hours of play. He starts Level 20 with 1.4M, ~115 big blinds. He is an experienced tournament player with ~$363k in career cashes and will be going for his second Final Table at the Big Stax series. Pandya finished 3rd in the 1500 at Big Stax VII for $43,040, his 2nd largest career cash.

Also at his table is Shankar Pillai, on his immediate right, with ~900k. Pillai picked up his stack after making a big river call for his tournament life with Ace-high.

The action started with the villain opening to 20k and Pillai 3-betting to 60k in position with AxQx. The flop came K♠3♠3♦ and the villain check/called a bet of 50k from Pillai. The turn was the 5♦ and the villain once again check/called a bet of 120k from Pillai who left himself with ~270k behind. The river was the 5♣, putting two pair on the board, and Pillai’s opponent now moved all-in showing his first aggressive action since opening pre-flop. Pillai tanked and eventually called with Ace-high, catching the villain’s bluff with 9♠8♠.
