Let’s briefly go over two eliminations before looking at a massive pot that was won by Shankar Pillai.

Jonas Wexler defended his big blind against Greg Nerenberg and then got in his remaining stack with 8x7x against Nerenberg’s QxQx on an 8x6x5x flop. Nerenberg held against the big combo draw of Wexler to send him to the rail.

Jonas Wexler is eliminated in 20th place for $3,912.

Josip Ricov was next to go after moving in for his last ~600k with Tx9x offsuit in the cutoff and was isolated by Schuyler Twaddle in the small blind with AKs. Twaddle won the run-out to bust Ricov’s 10 big blind stack.

Josip Ricov is eliminated in 19th place for $3,912.

Ken Huynh, Day 3 Level 27

Huynh just got mixed up with another big stack Shankar Pillai from the cutoff against Pillai’s button. On the turn, the board read Q♥Q♦10♥6♠ with ~1.4M in the middle. Huynh checked and called a bet of 500k from Pillai.

River: 2♥ Pot: ~2.4M

On the river, Huynh checked once again with ~2.6M in his stack. Pillai fired another barrel, this time a massive bet of 1.5M. Huynh thought for awhile before eventually tossing in a chip to indicate a call. Pillai showed the A♥J♥ for the nut-flush and Huynh mucked his cards.

Pillai wins another huge hand after eliminating Ruslan Arstanaliyev awhile ago. After dragging the ~5.4M chip pot from Huynh, he now has ~9.6M and is the first player to take a commanding chip-lead in this event.
