Alvarado Crushing Middle Game

Carlos Alvarado was featured earlier after busting Day 2 chip-leader Gary Kosalowski and landing himself on the initial leader-board. He has since continued his tear through the middle game and just busted an ~15 big blind stack to move up to ~2.3M.

Alvarado had opened the pot from middle position and the big blind defended. The flop came 7♣9♥4♦ and Alvarado continued with a bet of 54k and was called. The turn brought the 8♦ and now the villain pushed all-in for ~130k and was instantly called by Alvarado.

Alvarado A♦A♣ vs Villain Q♣8♣ Pot: ~420k

The river was the K♦ and Alvarado collected the pot. He has been steadily increasing his stack throughout the middle-game and is now the chip-leader and a serious threat to go deep in this event.
