Josh Lawson leads the pack early with ~145k. He is an experienced tournament player with ~$232k in live earnings and a couple of decent scores already on the year. During Big Stax XXI, he took 1st place in the 30 BB battle for $7,813 as part of a 3-way chop. Also, in January, he took 3rd in the $1k Six-Max at the Borgata Winter Open for $36,602. Lawson will be a dangerous player in this massive Day 1D and has chips to work with early.

Medlin comes in 2nd place with ~130k, just a slight edge on a big group of players between 100k-120k. Medlin has a fairly young tournament career but is off to a tremendous start with ~$23k in live winnings since his first cash in May 2017. He cashed three events at the WSOP totaling ~$12k in live earnings. He sets his sights on the Big Stax series and looks for his first cash in this excellent East Coast series.

Mike Durstock leads the large group of players that are slightly over 100k with ~125k in his arsenal. At this point, the field is still growing rapidly and there will be a ton of movement over the next few levels leading into dinner break. Three new tables were just opened to alleviate the long wait for the alternates. It will still be some time before the field begins to break down as entries and re-entries are still piling up.
