Joe McKeehen has stayed quiet on the blog but certainly not quiet on the felt. He has been chatting it up all evening and he has the chips to keep talking. He’s now approaching 3M after 4-betting a hand against Kevin Grabel.
McKeehen opened to 65k and was flatted by Golik in the cutoff. Grabel on the button at the 6-handed table, 3-bet to 170k. McKeehen wasted little time before 4-betting to 470k. After Golik folded, the table talk got started. Grabel commented that “I guess you’re gonna cooler me.” and “I don’t think I am folding.” McKeehen was as casual as possible, “Gonna be sweet for one of us.” “I thought you said you weren’t folding?” In the end, Grabel did fold leaving himself ~2.2M behind.
The Champ is certainly a dangerous presence among the 13 remaining players and will be a focal point going forward, possibly with the chip-lead, into Day 3 play. The bags are coming out in ~5 minutes and the action has slowed a bit on both tables.
