Mike Mercaldo has jumped out to a slight lead with 187k. He had it going on Day 1A early as well, but is back again to give it another shot today. Last series, Mercaldo took 5th in the Big Stax 500 Main Event for $23,386. That is the largest score on his resume and represents more than half of his $41k in earnings. He stayed busy as well by posting two more cashes including a 4th in a WSOP Circuit event for $5,920.
Aaron Mermelstein is back in action after a short hiatus over the early part of 2017. He missed the February WPTDeepstacks Big Stax series but is wasting no time getting caught up today having already built up 165k. He is fresh off of a trip to the Playground Poker Spring Classic and managed a cash in the Main Event there. He finished 75th for $12,743 in the C$5300 buy-in. It will take a final table appearance in the 1100 to push his career earnings over $2M, which is certainly possible for a player of his caliber.
The rest of the leader-board includes Alex Zaverukha(133k), Greg Fishberg(140k), Nick Peticca(131k) and Jerry Maher(147k).
