Chris Laieta had been hanging around the 100k mark for most of the day but found an excellent spot to chip-up towards the end of Level 14. He got it in with K♥K♣ against the A♦Q♦ of Eric Doerr and the 8♣8♠ from short-stacked Rob Gerrard. The board brought a massive sweat with the 5♦3♣7♦ flop but bricked out with the 10♣ and 5♥.
Laieta’s hold brings him up to 230k heading into the 4k big blind level in a few minutes. He has racked up $86k in live earnings with his best score coming last September in a Borgata Almighty Stack. His Final Table run ended in 7th place for $30,119. He will look to break his streak of close calls here at Parx now, after having come in 11th-18th three times before.
